The Dog Days of Summer

With each heat wave seeming like days turning into weeks, we are just trying to stay cool and find things to keep us busy while we try to beat the heat, and still enjoy the "dog days"...

(even though it's blurry, I love the look of surprise...we read this book at least 67 times a day and still, Oscar gets him every time;)

Little babies looking cute and trying to find snacks in the diaper bag...

Art projects

standing...anything to get this boy balanced and WALKING!!!

Uh-Oh! (signing)
messy pipsqueek markers!

It's simply too hot for chubby babies to wear shirts to bed!

finding other ways to use his box of blocks...

Road trips to Mom-Mom's pool!

Playing with cousins-Kalie, Jake, and Megan

These are some of my favorites. Liam loves his cousin Kalie and gets to see her often. Kalie is at the great age of 6 and wants to play with the little ones. This is her and Liam playing school, she is reading to him. He is entranced by her and I think that's one of the reasons he got picked to play ...he's an easy student;)

It was hard getting him to look at the camera!

so silly!

A quick heart update: Liam saw his cardiologist last Wednesday. Good visit, things still look the same, no changes. We did decide that a sedated echo in November is our next plan of action. Once we get a better, longer, and more detailed look, we'll be able to see how his mitral valve is holding up. Our Dr. does seem confident that we will have about a 6 month "heads-up" prior to the surgery which was a relief for Keith and I to hear. The more prepared for this we can be, the better. Although we are scared of another open heart surgery down the line for Liam, we know what we are facing and our Dr. does believe this next one will not be nearly as complicated as his first. Our prayers and intentions remain with that hope. All in all, good news, good visit-more updates to come in the future.

Hoping our readers are enjoying their summers!

Next up this week-Emma's first trip to the beach!
